Good Morning NCW Families,

As a reminder the next two weeks are considered a “dead period” for sports on the Father Ryan campus. There will be no practices during this time. Summer wrestling will continue on July 8.

We are also in need of more volunteers for the Zach Bryan concert this Saturday. If you are able to help please signup on the link below by Tuesday, 6/25. These fundraisers are a great way to support our wrestlers, meet some new families and enjoy some music. If you would like more information email nashvillecatholicwrestling1@gmail.com or text/call 615-585-5175.

We hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day Weekend!

We had a great start to our first Nissan fundraising with the Morgan Wallen concert bringing in just over $5,400!! Thank you to all who volunteered to make that a success!

CMA Fest is our next event and is coming up quickly. Due to the size and logistics of the event we are required to provide volunteer information by this Tuesday, May 28. We have a lot of gaps on our signup genius we need filled. Please click to sign up and volunteer for CMA Fest.  If we are unable to fulfill our obligation we will forfeit all future events.

SHIRT ORDERS
We are ordering t-shirts!! If you have worked at an event you know the black smocks they provide are hot! The shirts are also an easy way to ensure customers know they are supporting a non-profit with their orders and tips. In order to use our own shirts, instead of the provided black smock, ALL volunteers must wear a shirt or nobody can wear one. NCW will order extra shirts that volunteers can wear during each event and return at the end of the event. We cannot guarantee you will have an exact fit but we will do our best. We encourage you to purchase your own shirt to make sure you get the fit you prefer.   Please click to complete the Google Form to place an order.
Shirts will be ready for CMA Fest weekend

Shirts are available for anyone to order regardless of Nissan Events.
T-shirts are $10 for toddler – Adult XL, and $12 for Adult 2XL – 5XL.
All orders need to be submitted by Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 10 AM. If you are working ANY Nissan event this summer please order your shirt at this time. This will be the only order we place

Google Form to Order: https://forms.gle/ypFHcGTrR9N32TNq5

FUTURE Nissan Event Signups:
If you would like to work an event that is full please email me, nashvillecatholicwrestling1@gmail.com. We can potentially add more volunteers

  • July 20 – Def Leopard, Journey, Steve Miller (FULL)

We are able to volunteer at all events with just a beer portable with a 4 volunteer minimum. TEAMs training is the only requirement, TABC not required. These stands just serve drinks and you are able to leave before the crowd, after the alcohol cut off time for the event. We feel like this is a good opportunity to provide extra fundraising and have created a signup for each event. If we have four volunteers signed up at least a week prior to the event we will participate.

  • Titans football signups coming soon!

THANK YOU to all the wrestling families who make our team great. We appreciate all you do!!

Wrestling News

Dear Parents,
We are quickly approaching our Legends fundraising season. For those unfamiliar with this part of our program, it is our main way of raising funds for Nashville Catholic Wrestling and involves us working as a team to man concessions at Nissan Stadium events. I have had a blast getting to meet and know many of you at these events in the past while working Titans games and listening to great music at various concerts.
We have worked very hard to expand opportunities for our wrestlers in the past few years. For NCW to continue to bring in out-of-state clinicians and pay for our kids to attend national events, parent participation is more necessary than ever. Due to a policy change, Legends will not allow anyone under 18 to participate this year. In the past, we were able to staff these events with almost 1/2 high schoolers which is going to drive our need for parent participation this year. Don’t forget to invite your friends to come and work with us as well.

Below is a breakdown of the number of events required to offset costs associated with NCW participation:

  • High School (If your child attends VA Beach Nationals)- We would expect a total of 5 events to be worked, one must be a Titans game. Example: If mom and dad both work Morgan Wallen on Friday night, that would be 2 events.
  • High School (w/o VA Beach Nationals)- While we do not have a specific number of events due to the fact that we are not offsetting a specific cost, we would appreciate all the help we can get. Remember, this money pays for travel in season as well as any camps and clinicians brought to Ryan free of cost to our student-athletes.
  • Middle School- To help offset season dues, we would expect a total of 3 events to be worked. While this is not required and dues can be paid at the start of the season in the fall, it is a great way to get to know many of the other parents in the program
  • Crumbsnatchers- Similar to MS, to help offset season dues we would expect a total of 2 events to be worked

Parents,
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2023-2024 fundraising season!! We raised $31,800, of which, $22,000 came from our Nissan Stadium fundraising with Legends Hospitality. This fundraising allowed our wrestlers to travel and compete throughout the season to tournaments like Powerade, National Preps, and NHSCA in Virginia Beach. We were able to purchase weight room gear for all FRHS wrestlers, provide scholarships for NCW wrestlers, and bring in guest clinicians to run camps for our wrestlers.

We are looking forward to a great 2024-2025 season! Part of our success relies on our summer fundraising. There are several events we have agreed to volunteer for this season. Each event will require 18 volunteers. NEW THIS YEAR, all volunteers must be over the age of 18. Due to a minor serving in another state under Legends Hospitality they have changed their policy to not allow 16- and 17-year-old volunteers. They are working towards a solution and if/when it is changed we will pass that info along.

Thank you for helping make NCW a success! Please click an event below to sign up. TEAM training instructions are posted at the bottom of the email.

In life, there are people who show up in every corner, loving, supporting, and being the very fabric of our hearts. Shelley Lovelace was one of those people. We are heartbroken to share that after 13 days in the ICU Shelley passed away this morning. She was a wonderful wife, devoted mother, friend to all, and a beacon of love in our Irish wrestling family. The Lovelace family is grateful for the overwhelming support they have received the past two weeks. Please continue to keep Cooper, Ronnie, and Chloe in your thoughts and prayers.

A visitation to honor Shelley will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, starting at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM at the Harpeth Hills Memory Garden, Funeral Home & Cremation Center (9090 Highway 100, Nashville). Another visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location followed by a Funeral Service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
