Nashville Catholic Wrestling

Thank you to all who were able to make it last night. If you were unable to attend, notes from the meeting are below. Folders with all information, schedules and fundraising paperwork are in the wrestling room. Have your wrestler stop by and grab one when they are at practice.

Our Young Guns Wrestling Clinic is coming up on October 30, 2022. Only three spots remain for our Young Guns camp on October 30, 2022. (I know that is different from what I said last night, we had a few non-middle school/high school students sign up). Register at https://forms.gle/2e2jLTNrzCdDqwKw6 before all the spots are gone.

REGISTRATION
Please complete registration for the current season on our website. Cost for the season is $300 and includes singlet, t-shirt, and shorts. Registration fees paid via check (Nashville Catholic Wrestling), cash or Venmo (@NashvilleCatholic-Wrestling).

PRACTICE

• Mondays and Wednesdays (with High School) from 5:30-7:00 PM, Thursdays (Middle School only from 5:30-7:00 PM
• Location: Father Ryan Wrestling Room, unless otherwise noted.

FUNDRAISING
The majority of our fundraising will take place this month. We have a big goal of raising $60,000 this year. This money is used for travel expenses, camp fees, tournament entry fees and much more. We are already on our way to our goal with just over $12,000 raised from our car wash and Legends Hospitality events!! Thank you to everyone who has participated.

CASH CALENDAR: We did this last year and it was very successful. Attached is a calendar for your wrestler to receive donations on. Each date equals the total of the donation. We make 100% of the profit. All wrestlers that fill their entire calendar will receive a custom sublimated Nashville Catholic Wrestling sweatshirt with their last name on the back. Image is coming soon!! All calendars and donations need to be turned in by November 2, 2022.

LAUNDRY/SOAP FUNDRAISER: Everyone uses soap!! Please see the attached flyer for products and prices. These 5 gallon buckets retail for $150. Our goal is to sell a total of 350 units. All calendars and payments will be due November 2, 2022. The items will be ready for pickup 7-10 business days after our due date.

LEGENDS HOSPITALITY: We are approaching our final Legends Event of the fall season on October 23. We need five more volunteers to fill our signup genius. We will receive our assignments from Legends this WEDNESDAY and will need to provide them with a roster of our workers. If you are signed up for a TEAMs certification spot please email NCW when you have completed your training.

Wrestling season is almost here! I hope everyone is excited for the season to start.  

WRESTLING CLINIC
We are excited to host a Young Guns Wrestling Clinic on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM. Camp clinicians will be Eric Juergens (4x HS State Champion, 2x NCAA Champion for University of Iowa and 4x All-American) and Jody Strittmatter (Young Guns club director, HS State Champion, 4x All-American, 2x Div II National Champion for UPJ and 2x Big Ten Champion for University of Iowa). Details for the camp are in the attached flyer. It is important to register asap. This camp will be capped at 60 and information will go out to the public tomorrow. Father Ryan wrestlers and registered NCW wrestlers do not need to pay the fee, our fundraising money will take care of it.  You must register to reserve your spot.  Please register through our google form to attend, https://forms.gle/2e2jLTNrzCdDqwKw6

NCW MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENT MEETING
We will have our parent meeting this coming Monday, October 10, 2022 at 5:30 PM. It is important that all parents attend as we will distribute all materials for the season.  We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Our final Legends Hospitality event for the fall season is coming up October 23.  We have a few spots left on our signup genius that need to be filled.  If you have not yet volunteered please consider signing up for this event. It’s almost wrestling season!

Our season will begin on Monday, October 10, 2022. We will have our parent meeting during practice. Please note this is a NEW date from what we had initially sent out due to fall break at Father Ryan High School. We would like all parents to attend as the season details and fundraising will be shared. We look forward to seeing you on the 10th!

Our first fundraising event at Nissan Stadium was adventurous to say the least. Thank you to those that were able to come out and volunteer that night! We learned a lot and had some fun getting to know each other working together. Friday, August 12th we will work the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert.  We need to fill the sign-up genius by Sunday, August 7. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4BA8AF2AABFBC43-legends 

Some tips we learned from the first event: 

• Specific event details will be emailed to those signed up for each event by midweek of the event.  This will include parking, stadium entrance information, stadium rules and proper attire. 
• ONLY those who have completed the TEAMs training and are over 18 are allowed to work the register.  This is a MUST.  If we do not follow the rules we will not be allowed back. It is important to email nashvillecatholicwrestling1@gmail.com once you have completed the TEAMs course. 
• For those who do not complete the TEAMs training or are in the 16-17 age bracket they will help in concessions by prepping food, keeping all items stocked and ‘running’ food to the registers. Specific tasks will be assigned at the stadium when the group meets for the arrival time.

• If you do not plan to complete the training at one time, you must return to the training from the same device. Check “REMEMBER ME” box on the first screen.

Our summer car wash was a great success, raising $2,565, more than double last year’s amount!!

It is time to roll out our next fundraising event for the year. We will be working events at Nissan Stadium with Legends Hospitality. We will work food concessions in the stadium and NCW will receive a percentage of the total sales of the event. We have committed to working one event a month except during wrestling season (Nov-Feb). We need everyone’s participation in order for this to be a success. We are required to provide at least 20 workers per event. All high school and middle school wrestling families are asked to provide two workers to one fall and one spring event. We are asking you to sign up for an event on the signup genius below. Wrestlers over 16 are allowed to participate. Everyone over 18 must complete an alcohol training course online, details are below. Once you register for an event specific details will be provided to those registered a week before the event.
