There will not be any practice on New Year’s Day. On Monday, January 2, 2017, the middle school team will practice at 9:00 am. We will resume the regular practice schedule on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
The 49th annual FRHS Johnny Drennan Memorial Invitational is on January 6-7, 2017. 38 high school teams will be participating and we need your help. This is the longest running tournament in the State of Tennessee. Father Ryan provides the use of their facilities and is very good to us, and this is our chance to give back. We are asking each NCW family to provident least (1) case of Gatorades, soft drinks and or water for the Hospitality room. Please bring them to the Coaches office in the wrestling room at the Wednesday practice this week, or you may drop off on Friday.
Also all Club and Middle School wrestlers are invited to wear their NCW gear and receive free admittance to the tournament. Middle School wrestlers are encouraged to help with “towel tapping” during the matches and should check in with Father Ryan coaches.

The Christian County Invitational Tournament is Thursday, Dec. 29. The Christian County High School address is 220 Glass Ave, Hopkinsville KY, 42240. They are on Central Time. You are responsible for transportation. From Ryan the drive time is 1:16. Weigh-ins will be held Wednesday at Father Ryan during practice. Skin checks are at 8:00am at the tournament with wrestling to start at 9:30. I would plan on leaving Nashville no later than 6:30am. Going and the weights are: 72- Brody, 77- Jackson, Owen, 82- Tre, Justin, 88- Austin, Ski, 94- Calvin, Joey, 100- Thomas, 105-F, 115-F, 123- Sean, 132- Gabe, 142- Andrew, 152-F, 170- Max, 190- Justin, 240- Brock. Please let us know if there are any problems.
The Walton Verona Tournament scheduled Jan. 7 has been canceled.
Next Middle School practice is Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 5:30.NCW opportunity to give back
Each year the Father Ryan wrestling team hosts 20-25 homeless men on Christmas Eve and the team provides items for them.
We want to include NCW and are asking for your assistance. We need the following items for these men:
Toothbrushes, tooth paste, deodorant and other similar items. Also needing snacks that do not need to be refrigerated, peanut butter and crackers; cheese and crackers, etc.
These will be collected this Sunday December 18 at wrestling practice so please do what you can. All are welcome and if you would like to join as we host them on Christmas Eve, let us know at practice Sunday.

Cartersville this weekend and Middle School Holiday practice schedule
We have a tournament this weekend in Cartersville Georgia, the Hurricane Duals. The address is 320 E Church St., Cartersville GA 30120. We have reserved a block of 10 rooms for Friday night at the Hilton Garden Inn, 24 Liberty Dr., Cartersville GA 30121. Call and claim one.

Some NCW Middle School wrestlers will be traveling to Georgia on Friday. For those not traveling a reminder that all NCW wrestlers and elementary school students are invited be Father Ryan High School’s guests this Friday, December 16, for Junior Irish Basketball and Wrestling Night!
The Irish wrestling team will be taking on Brentwood High, Friendship Christian and William Blount in the Pat Simpson ’74 Wrestling Room. Matches start at 5:00 pm and the basketball team will take on Stewarts Creek High same time in the gym.
Register below as there will be a certificate for the concession stand, as well as prizes and giveaways throughout the night. Wear your NCW gear and your purple to show your NCW and Irish Pride.
