Wrestling tomorrow at MBA: Eli M, Matthew B, Brantley G, Calvin E, Austin W, William M, Carlyle M, Sean P, Gabe F, Andrew N, Andrew Y, Brock H, Max F, . No weigh-in. Be at MBA by 4:15. If your name is not listed and you want to wrestle, please send Coach Gorham a text. and he’ll see if he can get you a match. MBA has no wrestlers under 88 or over 175 however.

There are 2 tournaments this weekend. Top 100 in Cleveland and the Music City Brawl makeup at Independence. You may wrestle in either or both. The weigh-in for the Top 100 counts for the Independence tournament. YOU MUST register for these tournaments yourself on Trackwrestling.com. Go to the website, click Browse, click Tournaments, click the one you want to wrestle and follow the prompts. You must register for both if you plan to do both. They will fill up quickly, so get to it. Coaches will be at both tournaments.

THE FAIRVIEW BEGINNER TOURNAMENT HAS JUST BEEN CANCELED. They felt like they were going to get too much competition from the Music City Brawl. Those planning on wrestling in the Beginner tournament should consider the Brawl as they do have all ages. The next beginner tournament is Jan. 29 at Nolensville High School.

For those wrestlers in town Saturday, plan to be at the Father Ryan/MBA match at Ryan no later than 6:30 in Khakis and a tie. Ryan will recognize the NCW middle school team before the match.

Two more things

Posted by Matt Gorham at Jan 10, 2017 5:16PM PST

We will be wrestling at MBA this Thursday evening. I should have their list by Wednesday’s practice to let you know who is going.

The Music City Brawl is the Tournament on Sunday at Independence. It was snowed out last weekend. It was full but they have had some teams drop out and the slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Text or email me your name and the weight you want to go and I will put you on the list. Chances are you will get in.

This weekend

Posted by Nashville Catholic Wrestling at Jan 4, 2017 11:10AM PST

A lot of things going on this week:

1. Middle school practice Sunday at 4:30 has been canceled. Instead, Chad Red will be holding a camp Sunday from 10:00-11:30 and 12:30-2:00. All middle school wrestlers are expected to attend. There is no cost and lunch will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a small setting with one of the top coaches in the country, please take advantage of this.

2. Crumbsnatchers Club will have practice Sunday at their normally scheduled time, 4:30 – 5:45

3. Father Ryan holds the Johnny Drennan Invitational this weekend. Workers are needed Friday from 1:30-6:30 and Saturday from 9:30-7:00. The tournament is going to be streamed on Track Wrestling so we will need coverage for 6 mats. That means 6 towel tappers, 6 video operators, and 6 computer workers. Training for the video operators and computer workers will be Thursday night from 5:00-6:00. Middle school wrestlers are encouraged to wear their Nashville Catholic gear. Admittance is free for the middle school wrestlers and table workers.

4. We are asking each NCW family to provident least (1) case of Gatorades, soft drinks and or water for the Hospitality room. Please bring them to the Coaches office in the wrestling room at the Wednesday practice this week, or you may drop off on Friday.

5. If any parent wants to work, either in the hospitality room or as a table worker, we would be happy to have you. Please contact Connie at 615-533-8583.

6. Lastly, the AAU season is in full swing. While we will have a few club on club matches, most of the competition will be individual tournaments on Saturdays. Please check the calendar. Every wrestler is eligible to compete in these tournaments and we can enter as many as we want in each weight class. The next two middle school tournaments are Jan. 21 at Wilson Central and Jan. 28 at Mt. Juliet.
