Important: All Middle School wrestlers should bring their singlets to practice on Wednesday November 20. We will gather them up and return them to each wrestler before the MBA match next day.

The time for the NCW/MBA match on Thursday has been moved up due to the Purple / White match at Father Ryan. All NCW Middle School wrestlers must be at Father Ryan at 4:00 pm, but do not have to be on weight. Again singlets will be returned before the match.

On Sunday our NCW Middle School will wrestle the Christian Brothers Wave Club from Memphis. For those interested, there will be a Mass at noon in the Wrestling room. Weigh-ins will be at 1:00 and wrestling begins at 2:00 pm. There will be (3) mats as Father Ryan will be wrestling Christian Brothers same time, and will be held in the Father Ryan gym. All NCW Middle School wrestlers should get a match, but do not have to be on weight. There will be concessions, and since this is a Father Ryan match there will be an admission charge except for wrestlers. There will not be NCW practice Sunday afternoon.

We received sad news this morning as Tommy Bateman has passed away. In addition to being a star football player and Head Football Coach at Father Ryan, Tommy was a State Champion wrestler at Father Ryan who always gave back to the sport. He was the founder of our beloved Nashville Catholic Wrestling and saw that boys needed to learn some basic fundamentals before going on to wrestle in high school.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later, but please keep his family in your prayers.

This Saturday Oct. 19 we have another coupon drop at Titan’s stadium, and in addition it is “Code Blue”. After placing the coupons, we will actually slide a T shirt over the seat of the chair that folds up. We only have a portion of the stadium and those who help will receive a Code Blue T shirt. We will meet in Parking Lot “M” on the north side of the stadium (river side) at 7:00 am sharp. If “M” is closed try parking lot “S” next to it. Upper Middle School wrestlers, older siblings, parents, friends etc are invited to help. Don’t forget a backpack or sturdy bag with handles for all those participating, and this is a rain or shine event.

Elite Starts March 5

Attention all wrestlers interested in Elite. Our Elite group will be coached by Adam Koballa, and practice begins on March 5 and 7 at Christ the King, and the remaining ones at Father Ryan. Practices are scheduled for Sunday, Tuesday and Thursdays from 4:00 – 5:30 pm. Elite is designed for the advanced Middle School and High School wrestler serious about getting to the next level.

Newcomers interested in the Elite program will require evaluation by Coaches. Elite will likely continue thru June or July, with numerous tournament opportunities. Cost is $350 for NCW members, plus every participant must purchase their own USA Wrestling card. Financial assistance may be available if needed.

Please complete the registration form (see documents or link attached here) and bring the completed form, your payment, and a copy of your USA card with you to first practice. Each participant will also receive a NCW wrestling backpack.

NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO WRESTLE OR PRACTICE WITH ELITE WITHOUT A USA WRESTLING CARD!

This $350 is not a monthly cost but a one-time fee for participation in these practices. Any costs associated with tournaments (entry fees, hotel, travel, etc) will be the responsibility of the wrestler.
